Acceptable use policy
In force since September 8, 2026 · Version 1.0
Our products protect ordinary people and small businesses doing ordinary things. This policy states what they may not be used for, and what happens when someone tries. It forms part of our Terms of Sale and applies to every licence we issue.
1. General rule
Use our products lawfully, and do not use them to harm other people or other people's systems. Everything below follows from that sentence; the list is illustrative and not exhaustive.
2. Prohibited activity
You may not use any product or service we supply to:
— break the law of the country you are in, or of the country you are directing activity at;
— gain or attempt to gain access to a computer, network, account or data that you are not authorised to use;
— scan, probe, flood, overload or otherwise interfere with the operation of any system that is not yours;
— distribute malicious software, ransomware, spyware, or tools whose main purpose is to compromise another system;
— send unsolicited bulk email or messages, or operate infrastructure that supports someone else doing so;
— carry out fraud, phishing, identity theft, business email compromise, or the laundering of the proceeds of crime;
— infringe another person's copyright, trade mark, patent or other intellectual property right, or distribute material you have no right to distribute;
— produce, store, transmit or make available child sexual abuse material, or any other material whose possession is a criminal offence;
— harass, stalk, threaten, defame or covertly monitor another person, including a member of your own household;
— resell, sublicense, rent or share a licence outside the terms it was sold under;
— operate an unlicensed money service, an unlicensed gambling operation, or any activity requiring a licence you do not hold.
3. Family products and consent
Noltra Family is a parental tool, and every monitoring feature it has is visible to the child on their own device. It may be used by a parent or legal guardian for a child in their care. It may not be used to monitor an adult — including a partner, an employee or a household member — and we have deliberately not built the features that would make covert monitoring possible.
4. Business products and employee notice
Noltra Business reports device posture, not device contents. If you deploy it, you are responsible for telling the people whose devices are enrolled that it is there and what it reports, as the employment and data protection law of your country almost certainly requires. The product shows every enrolled user what is being reported about their device.
5. Reporting abuse
Report suspected abuse of our services to legal@noltrasoft.com with as much detail as you can give — timestamps with a time zone, addresses, and what you observed. We acknowledge every report within one business day and we tell the reporter the outcome unless we are prohibited from doing so.
We investigate every report we receive. We do not ignore a report because the reporter is in a different country from us.
6. What we do about a breach
Depending on severity, we may contact the account holder for an explanation, suspend the licence, terminate it, or refuse future orders. For anything involving a risk to a person's safety, or material whose possession is a criminal offence, we suspend first and ask afterwards.
A licence terminated for a serious breach is not refunded. A licence suspended in error is restored and the lost time is credited.
7. Lawful requests and what we can produce
We respond to lawful, properly served requests from an authority with jurisdiction over us. We check that a request is valid, is within that authority's power, and is specific; we refuse or challenge one that is not, and we ask for a narrower request where a broad one arrives.
We can only produce what exists. For an order, that is the email address, the products bought and the payment reference. For Connect, no record of connection destinations exists, because the service is built not to create one — this is a property of the system, not a promise about how we would behave.
Where the law permits us to tell the affected customer that a request was made, we do.
8. Reporting a vulnerability
If you find a security weakness in a product or in this website, write to legal@noltrasoft.com with the details. We will acknowledge within one business day and keep you informed. We will not take legal action against a researcher who acts in good faith, stays within their own account or a test account, does not access other people's data, does not degrade the service, and gives us a reasonable period to fix the issue before publishing.
We credit researchers who ask to be credited.
